Tools & resources

Today is a world filled with technology and information. There are hundreds of livestock marketing resources available to us, and this is a short list of livestock marketing and animal health information relevant to our area. If you have any suggestions, ideas, or other resources and links that you would like to see on the CHS Southwest Grain website, please let us know!

North Dakota Beef Commission

The North Dakota Beef Commission works to provide development in the North Dakota beef industry.

North Dakota State University

NDSU provides many excellent articles and sources of information about livestock in North Dakota.

Veterinary Feed Directive

The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has modified animal drug regulations to implement the Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) section of the Animal Drug Availability Act of 1996.

As a distributor of animal feed products, CHS Southwest Grain will be changing labeling and sale procedures in order to meet the VFD requirements.

Learn more about VFD, the changes that are being made, and how those changes will affect your operation.

CHS Southwest Grain’s Animal Health & Nutrition Team has been work with local vets, like West River Veterinary Clinic, to put together Herd Health books to make the transition to VFD regulations a little easier for everyone. You can print out a hard copy of the West River Veterinary Clinic/CHS Southwest Grain Herd Health book to fill out later or you can edit the PDFs on our website and print them out.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about VFDs and how they will affect your livestock operation, please don’t hesitate to contact CHS Southwest Grain or your local veterinarian.
